SJK(C) CHUNG HUA BAKAM, SARAWAK

Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Chung Hua Bakam is an under-enrolled school (Sekolah Kurang Murid) with over 80 students from families who work on farms and plantations. The  Chinese School Directors Association works closely with the school and has even provided extra broadband internet to support the school with better internet access for teaching and learning as well as administration.

The school started its journey with Frog in 2017 when FrogPlay was launched and has since been consistently using FrogPlay in teaching and learning. What drive the success of Frog in the school is the dedication of the Frog Admin, Mr Wong Chung Hiung, with strong support from the Headmaster and PIBG.

Frog is making a difference in Teaching & Learning

Student Engagement

Since students started using FrogPlay, school attendance have increased significantly. Previously, students would always skip school and follow parents to the farm instead. Dedicated teachers would take the trouble to go all the way to the farm to convince students to come to school. But since teachers introduced FrogPlay in class, students are always on time and are especially excited to go to the computer room.

Frog has given teachers an opportunity to engage students better. During morning reading sessions, students would usually be uninterested to participate. But by using Frog in these reading sessions, students have become more attentive and are always ready to participate.

“My students are so happy when they are called to go to the computer room for FrogPlay revision, as they are having so much fun completing quizzes and able to play the mini games when they answer correctly.”

- Mr Wong Chung Hiung, Frog Admin
