“With Frog, teaching and learning has definitely changed. Teachers find it easier to teach with Frog and students find it more interesting to learn with Frog.”
- Cikgu Fadzlin, Frog Admin
Since 2014, Sekolah Menengah Agama Kuala Lumpur is one of the schools selected by the Ministry of Education to carry out Tahfiz Model Ulul Albab (TMUA), a collaborative effort of Kurikulum Kebangsaan, Kurikulum Bersepadu Tahfiz (KBT) and Program Ulul Albab. The school started using Frog in 2012 with ICT teacher Cikgu Fadzlin and Principal Tuan Hj. Kamarul Ariffin driving its success. Since the launch of the Frog VLE, Cikgu Fadzlin has been advocating the implementation of technology in school by convincing senior leadership team of the school on the importance of using technology in teaching and learning. In 2017, JPWPKL awarded the school for having the best practices with Frog VLE for secondary school category in Wilayah Persekutuan.
The school has recently completed its Frog Classroom makeover. The school utilises the Frog Classroom as a place for other schools to gather when coaches from the Ministry of Education brings them on a tour to SMK Agama Kuala Lumpur to learn on the best practices cultivated by the school in 21st century education.
Frog is making a difference in Administration
SMK(A) Kuala Lumpur has effectively used Frog for administration purposes. The school even has a roster where administrative tasks are equally divided and shared amongst teachers instead of having all the work assigned to just one admin teacher.
The school uses the Frog VLE as the sole platform for booking school facilities such as the computer lab, meeting rooms and Frog Classroom. This has allowed efficient tracking of facilities being used and helped eliminate overlapping bookings.
Frog is making a difference in Community Engagement
Parents are more connected with what is happening in school
Parents have become more connected with what is happening in school as the school keeps parents informed with letters, memos, exam schedules and other updates on school activities that are uploaded onto the school’s dashboard through the Frog VLE. Parents also contribute RM50 to the school’s ICT fund to help in upkeeping devices in the computer lab.
Teachers come together as a community to inspire and support one another and students in 21st Century teaching and learning
Cikgu Fadzlin conducts Meet, Share & Learn (MSL) sessions in school with the senior leadership team and admins to update them on the school’s progress as well as share tips and tricks on Frog and other technology tools. Cikgu Fadzlin also shares the school’s best practices with teachers from other schools through government-organised workshops.
