SJKT BATU CAVES, SELANGOR

Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) Batu Caves has over 1,000 students enrolled and 74 teachers. The school has a computer lab that is well-equipped, and six classrooms installed with smartboards. The school also received a Frog Classroom last year in 2018 when they began actively using Frog.

When Ms Kalieswary transferred into the school, she was appointed as the Frog Admin. She was given strong support from Headteacher Ms Sarasvathy to drive initiatives in implementing the use of Frog in school. Ms Kalieswary started using Frog in her own classes first before she went on to trying to get other teachers on-board, because she believed that setting an example would make it easier to convince them that Frog is a great educational platform.

Parents are more connected with what is happening in school

The school started a WhatsApp group chat for parents to keep them updated and informed with activities and events happening in school. Ms Kalieswary has taken initiative to share information about Frog more actively to build awareness and gain parents’ support. Parents have taken notice and began encouraging their children to use Frog at home. Parents are also able to directly ask questions on the WhatsApp group chat where teachers will provide assistance.
