At FrogAsia, we want to see every child having full access to a 21st century education, anytime, anywhere, on any device, regardless of background or location. Everyday, we are working towards transforming the education in Malaysia by challenging the status quo and doing things differently. We play our part in empowering students, parents, and teachers to be changemakers in education through our suite of products and services, and various initiatives.
HOW WE DO IT
Our teaching and learning platform, the award-winning Frog Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is designed to simplify and enhance teaching, learning and administration. This platform enables sharing and collaboration, so that ideas, knowledge and the best practices from schools around the entire nation can be put together on a single platform.
Designed to cater to the needs of the 21st century learner and equip them for a future that is increasingly digital, the Frog VLE offers features such as assignment marking, interactive Site creation tools, widgets such as polls, quizzes and forum builders, and more! These features allow a wide range of learning styles through the incorporation of richer audio, visual and interactive media as compared to traditional textbooks. With these features available, teachers and schools are provided with deeper insight into their students’ performance through automatically-gathered analytics to further cater to students’ needs.
In an increasingly connected world, there is a need to properly introduce classroom technology to prepare students for the future. Having access to learning apps on a mobile device encourages learning outside of the classroom and outside of school hours. This also enables teachers, students and parents to monitor andmanage homework, and their teaching and learning resources anytime, anywhere. We have designed a suite of mobile applications - Frog Assignments, FrogSnap and FrogChat - for optional download that provides Frog users with an improved VLE experience on the go.
We also have our one-stop shop, FrogStore , that curates the best free and paid educational content available across the web. This is a space that brings together teaching and learning material from local and global partners, as well as material created by teachers from all across the country. This repository is filtered by the Ministry of Education to ensure that the quality of the material shared on the FrogStore is upheld.
Last year, we introduced FrogPlay, a gamified application featuring interactive quizzes and games using content (all core subjects across all years) from the national syllabus. This tool uncovered a burst of possibilities for teachers, students and parents. Students uncovered new ways of learning and educators found new ways of teaching and engaging students in the classroom. Click here to read more about FrogPlay.
We also launched the FrogPlay Championship, a nationwide school competition that ran from 11 June to 29 September 2017. The Championship was aimed to encourage schools, teachers and students to collaborate and use gamified learning to encourage learning in a fun, interactive and meaningful way. This has increased the understanding of using gamified learning and ready-made quizzes available in FrogPlay and the Frog VLE. Click here to read more about the Championship winners.
To ensure that all schools have equal access to to quality 21st century teaching and learning, regardless of location, we launched the Frog Appliance that enables speedy access to the Frog VLE without having to rely on internet connectivity. This is a customised solution for schools in very remote areas where access to high-speed internet connectivity is still in the process of being built.
