Since its launch in 2014, the 1BestariNet Teacher Awards (1BNTA) has become an annual celebration and appreciation for pioneer educators across Malaysia. Organised by FrogAsia and supported by the Ministry of Education, the Awards aims to recognise pioneer educators with outstanding achievements in adopting technology and raising the standards in classrooms nationwide.
This year, our 1BNTA 2018 theme is “Celebrating Teachers Who Raise The Bar”. We want to recognise teachers across the country who are stepping up in their role as facilitators of knowledge by raising the bar in teaching and learning with Frog. We also want to recognise teachers who are stepping up in leadership by supporting other teachers on their journey in 21st century education and advocating 21st century initiatives in school activities and administration.
Thousands of nominations were narrowed down to 20 teachers who received the highest number of votes. Teachers then went through a thorough judging process with Datin Nawal, former Director of Examinations in the Ministry of Education, and two other representatives from FrogAsia. Judging criteria were based on how teachers implemented 21st century education to cultivate Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), efforts to increase 21st century teaching and learning, the use of Frog VLE and other education technology tools to enhance 21st century teaching and learning.
3 teachers stood out from all the rest, showcasing outstanding efforts and innovative ways that raise the bar in 21st century education.
We also wanted to give a special mention to 3 other teachers that showcased commendable efforts to increase teacher and student engagement towards 21st century education.
Congratulations, teachers! We are so proud of your amazing efforts to raise the bar in education, paving the way for many other teachers to be encouraged and follow suit on your journey in 21st century teaching and learning with Frog. Thank you for being such an inspiration!
