7 April 2018 - Leaps of Knowledge 2018: Level Up! Conference took place at the JW Marriott, Kuala Lumpur, and what a spectacular day it was!
Over 600 teachers and parents were inspired to raise the bar in 21st century teaching and learning through a series of keynotes given by Lou, Executive Director of FrogAsia, Shaheen Mistri, Founder of Akansha and CEO of Teach For India, as well as Datin Kathleen Chew, programme director of YTL Foundation.
Lou shared in her keynote that since its introduction, over 71 million hours has been spent on Frog to date, with 41 million pieces of learning content created, accumulating up to 8000 years of revision condensed into one. Last year alone, 1.5 million hours of self-revision was spent on FrogPlay. She encouraged teachers and parents to raise the bar collaboratively at school and at home to best prepare students for their future.
Beary the Bear made a special appearance on stage to launch the FrogPlay World Championships 2018. This year, the FrogPlay Championships return bigger and better as students will be competing in a world arena against other students from across the globe! After the keynote sessions, teachers and parents participated in specially crafted gamified workshops that allowed them to experience gamified learning and learn new ways on how to raise the bar in 21st century teaching and learning with the new Frog features.
Teachers and parents also attended Meet, Share and Learn sessions to hear from Gold Advocates such as Encik Saifulnizan from SK Raja Bahar, Mr Jackson Siga from SMK St Peter Telipok, and Mr Wen Beng Heng from SK Taman Kepong. These teachers shared their best practices on how they have enabled and leveled up in teaching and learning as well as developed Higher Order Thinking SKills in students through Frog.
Once workshops were over, teachers and parents crowded the ballroom lobby to have some fun at our Games Booths, which consisted of 3 real-life FrogPlay games - Penalty Shootout, Quackshot and Ten-Pin Bowling. We must say, what a great sight it was to see teachers and parents cheering each other on to score a point in our games!
The day ended on a high note with a very much anticipated lucky draw! 3 lucky winners walked away with a Google Chromebook, Yes Altitude phone, Yes 4G huddle and exclusive Frog Merchandise.
At FrogAsia, we are committed in helping and supporting you in your journey of 21st century education. Thank you teachers and parents for the incredible energy and enthusiasm shown throughout the conference! We hope you will encourage those around you to raise the bar together just as how we have inspired you to level up!
